How to Find ISRC Codes on Spotify
Spotify makes it relatively easy to find ISRC codes for tracks. Whether you're an artist checking your own releases or a label managing a catalog, there are two main ways to access ISRC information on Spotify: through the Spotify for Artists dashboard and through the Spotify Web API.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to your Spotify for Artists dashboard at artists.spotify.com.
- Navigate to the Music tab in the top navigation.
- Find and click on the track you want the ISRC for.
- In the track details panel, scroll down to find the ISRC code listed under the recording information.
- Alternatively, in the Spotify desktop app, right-click any track and select "Show Credits" — the ISRC is displayed in the credits overlay.
Tips
- You can also find ISRCs using the Spotify Web API — the track endpoint returns ISRC in the
external_idsobject. - Need to convert Spotify URLs or URIs? Use spotiurl.com for quick URL/URI conversion.
- If you don't have access to Spotify for Artists, ask your distributor for the ISRC — they assigned it when uploading your release.
- The ISRC shown on Spotify is the one your distributor embedded in the track metadata.
API Access
The Spotify Web API provides ISRC codes via the
GET /v1/tracks/{id} endpoint. The ISRC is returned in the external_ids object as external_ids.isrc. You'll need a valid API access token to make requests.Need to validate an ISRC?
