How to Find ISRC Codes on YouTube
YouTube uses ISRC codes primarily through its Content ID system and for auto-generated Art Tracks (the music videos YouTube automatically creates for tracks distributed to YouTube Music). If you've distributed music through a label or distributor, your ISRC is likely already linked to your content on YouTube.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to YouTube Studio at studio.youtube.com.
- Navigate to Content in the left sidebar.
- Click on the music video or Art Track you want to check.
- In the Details tab, look for recording metadata — the ISRC may be listed in the content identification section.
- If your content is managed through Content ID, the ISRC is linked to the sound recording asset in your CMS (Content Management System).
Tips
- YouTube Art Tracks are automatically generated using metadata from your distributor, including the ISRC.
- If you can't find the ISRC in YouTube Studio, check with your distributor — they provided the ISRC when delivering your music to YouTube Music.
- Content ID uses ISRCs to match and manage sound recording assets across YouTube.
- ISRC codes help YouTube properly attribute and monetize your music when it's used in other creators' videos.
